Are your services only for employees moving to/from Romania?

We can assist with immigration processes in other countries outside of Romania, as we can coordinate global processes through our network of verified immigration partners. Our comprehensive services are available only to host companies and those located in Romania.

Can you help me with recruiting and workforce mobility for my small business in Romania?

What is an ICT employee?

An ICT employee is a highly skilled employee from outside the EU, having a project of up to 3 years in an EU country. The ICT employee is a secondee, not a locally hired worker, therefore the payroll status remains in the home country.

What is the Van der Elst process?

The Van der Elst immigration process is a way to facilitate access to other EU countries for workers from outside the EU who already have a project in an EU country.

What does Form A1 represent?

Form A1 is a document for intra-EU seconded workers that exempts them from paying social contributions while still benefiting from social security coverage.

What is shadow payroll?

Placing an employee in an office located in another country may require them to pay income taxes in the host country, even if they continue to receive income from their home country and pay social security and income taxes there. Setting up a shadow payroll is a matter of compliance with the laws of the respective country and helps multinationals avoid fines from public authorities.

Can you provide assistance to our internal global mobility team/consultant?

You can contract us to either have us manage your global mobility process or certain aspects of it that you may not be familiar with, or to train your team to manage it in-house.

If I need an employee by a certain calendar date, how early should I start the process?

If the employee is an EU citizen, the process will begin after their hiring. For a non-EU citizen, the process should start 3 months before the desired date.

Could legal updates in Romania or the EU affect projects related to my company?

Yes, but you don’t have to worry about breaking the law, as we keep our clients updated on all legislative amendments so that necessary changes can be implemented in a timely manner.

Are there international schools in Romania, and can you assist us in finding the most suitable one?

Yes, Romania has a number of international schools with American, British, French, Italian curricula, present in various cities, especially in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Iași. Once I receive a residence permit in Romania, can I travel freely in the EU?

A residence permit in Romania does not grant rights to travel in the EU. A Schengen visa will be required for that purpose.
